• Fall Colours in Greenwich

As we walked back down the hill we saw the beautiful fall colours in Greenwich. We walked through the beautiful Greenwich park, following the sounds of live music, and ended up on the other side of the hill. The music ended up being a festival, unfortunately, so we just continued down the hill. I love how old the buildings are in London, each one has a personality, it’s gorgeous. This is the perfect place to go on a nice day, the park is huge and the view from the top is incredible. For more information on Greenwich, click here.

  • Limehouse Conservation Area

The trail through the Limehouse Conservation Area is gorgeous. When we reached Limehouse we found these beautiful, humungous mushrooms on a tree on the edge of a property. I love mushrooms, and seeing how large they can grow is incredible. We didn’t go deep into the area but there are lots of places to explore, including remnants of the of Lime industry. The Limehouse Kilns have been around since the late 1800s and are a must see when on the trail. It was a lovely, but muggy, overcast day. Everything in the forest was bright green, popping against the dark brown ground. Limehouse is a tiny town, but is surrounded by gorgeous woodlands. This…

  • Multnomah Falls

Multnomah Falls is the main stop on the Columbia River drive. This 620 foot mammoth waterfall is breathtaking from every angle. The Native American lore behind the falls states that it was created to win the heart of a young princess who wanted a private place to bathe. From the road you can only see the top of the falls, as you move closer you notice a thicker bottom tier that only adds to the beauty. There is a trail all the way up to the top of the falls – we opted out of the walk – but there is a stop at the Benson bridge. The Benson bridge was…

  • Bridal Veil Falls

Bridal Veil Falls was my favourite waterfall. Everything in Oregon is so lush and green, that the white from the falls was dazzling. The walk from the car is ten minutes through thick trees along a trail. From the top of the hill you can hear the stream but cannot see it until you get around to the front. Since we were there in early May, and during the week, it was quiet. The waterfall is thicker than the others on this drive, and flows down from Larch Mountain to make its way to the Columbia River. There is also another hike, a loop around the forest, that you can do…

  • Historic Columbia River Highway

In early April a friend and I took a trip to Portland, Oregon. We had no real plan so my family took us to the Historic Columbia River Highway, to see the gorgeous waterfalls. The first stage of the journey was the stunning lookout at the Portland’s Women Forum of the Columbia River and the gorge. The cascading mountains along the water, even on a grey day, was breathtaking. Everything is already so green from the mild winter, and the trees lining the hills were beautiful. The second stop was the the Vista House at Crown Point. I saw the building at the first lookout and was immediately drawn to…

  • Trout Lake

Sunday was a beautiful, ridiculously warm, day in Vancouver. Walking to the bus I saw a guy in shorts and a t-shirt. It was a little excessive, but it is getting close to summer on the west coast. I headed down to East Vancouver to hang out with my friend and took a stroll around Trout Lake. It was beautiful, it is always a good day when you can see the mountains. It is nice to be able to do most of the outdoor west coast things before I leave the province, but it is really strange to not have a real winter. Trout Lake is really relaxing, and a nice…

  • Brothers Creek Loop

On Saturday I ventured to my friends house on the North Shore. We planned for a photo adventure and settled on Brothers Creek Loop. We weren’t out for too long because of the rain, but I did manage to get a few good shots. The fog on the water was so thick, and we were so high up that you couldn’t see anything, but it was stunning. Everything was so lush and green. The trail was great, clearly marked paths but you could still explore. The trees were massive, and there were lots of streams, and bridges. It was a fun day, and hopefully next time when we go out…

  • Halton

Coming home is always lovely, but in the winter Georgetown is a completely different place. Summer here is gorgeous, and since I haven’t been home in a while, my father and I adventured. Georgetown is a tiny town surrounded by farmland. The photos of Main street, which will be posted tomorrow, don’t even look real. It wasn’t the liveliest place to grow up but coming back from the city to a small town is always nice.

  • South Granville

I walked a long way home the other day, taking my camera through the older part of Granville. Everything is bursting with colour and when the sun shines it’s hard to stay inside. Here are a few shots from that gorgeous day!

  • Summer in Vancouver

It finally feels like summer in Vancouver! The sun has arrived and to celebrate, I took a walk around the neighbourhood. Gardens are in full bloom and the trees are bright green and beautiful. Even though this is just the beginning, it is going to be a stunning summer.
