Manitoba and Saskatchewan

We made it out of Ontario!!

We traded the hills and trees for flat land and huge fields. The farmland was beautiful but the wind was insane. Our little car was being pushed, you could feel the friction.

We made it in to Winnipeg for the night. Unfortunately our couch surfer had a miscommunication and we took up in a motel. It was nice to shower and sleep in a bed, and free tea and coffee in the morning was nice.

The next morning was grey and rainy and really cold; Mumford and Sons was the perfect soundtrack. We raced out of Winnipeg and drove to Saskatchewan. The fields were bright and beautiful and as the sun began peeping out from the clouds, the colours were sensational. When we stopped for pictures every step on the straw caused a hundred grasshoppers to fly in every direction.

The night in Regina was spent at a couchsurfers. The house was large, there were a few guest cats roaming around and there were three roommates. The first roommate just happened to be from the town next to mine, and his sister used to be best friends with my roommate. Weird coincidence.

When the second couchsurfer came home we had started the wine and were chatting away. He brought his girl over, who happened to be from Toronto, and we stayed up much later than usual gabbing and drinking.

This is about the time we almost exculsively started listening to How Did This Get Made. A podcast about awful movies staring Paul Scheer, June Diane Raphael and Jason Mantzoukas. This podcast is amazing, I highly recommend it.

These provinces were beautiful but not very eventful for us. Alberta gave us many more adventures. To see the pictures from the trip, click here.
