Vancouver Photography

  • Sunset in Vancouver

A couple weeks ago I grabbed my camera as I left to get cat food. I usually don’t bring it with me on little walks but something was compelling me. As I turned onto Broadway and looked downtown I was shocked. The sunset had created an almost volcanic look to the clouds coming off the mountain. The quick trip turned into a fourty-five minute walk around Kits, but it was well worth it. Enjoy!

  • VanDusen Botanical Gardens

The VanDusen Botanical Gardens sits in the middle of a subdivision in Vancouver. It is 55-acres of plants and flowers from around the world, with trails, a maze and little paths sneaking through nature. The colours were spectacular, bright yellows falling from trees, red rotting flowers turning purple and every shade of green you could imagine skirting every eyeline. All of the images below were taken with my phone, but I am already planning a trip back with my SLR.

  • East vs West Vancouver

This week Vancouver was outrageously beautiful. The mood in the city lightened and everyone was friendly. This was a spectacular Easter weekend, especially seeing both sides of Vancouver. All of the flowers and trees are beginning to bloom adding a pop of colour to the streets and it was so clear that you could see every inch of the city.

  • Lynn Canyon and Wreck Beach

The best part about living in Vancouver is living so close to nature. While some childhood friends were down we spent the day at Lynn Canyon and Wreck Beach. The morning was freezing, it hailed when we were walking up Lynn Canyon, but the fog in the trees was stunning. By the time we reached Wreck Beach the sun was out and skies were blue. The ocean was so still, you could make out every detail in the reflections. This also allowed for a breathtaking sunset.
