• Driving to the North Shore

    After a few days in Honolulu, we drove up to Turtle Bay on the North Shore. We stopped at a few of the lookouts, including a stunning beach, with clear water and coral bottom. The clear skies, warm weather and beautiful views made this drive wonderful.

    Diamond Head is a giant crater in Honolulu. The climb up the trail is taxing, it is a steep incline to a cave then a sharp set of stairs to a lookout. Once you get to the top there is a slight breeze and the views are spectacular. The turquoise water, tiny buildings and beautiful landscapes are worth every sweaty step.

  • Blind Man Given Gift of Sight

    Pierre-Paul Thomas has been given the gift of sight. The 68 year-old was born with congenital nystagmus — a condition in which the eyes move from side to side involuntarily, as well as damaged optic nerves and severe cataracts (Credit). If Thomas had been born today, he would have a better chance of sight, but he was born in the 1940′s when Medicare was not yet available.
