Ronan

This is the Taylor Swift I was expecting. “Ronan” is soft and beautiful, touching the hearts of everyone.

This shows a maturity in her writing, and makes the previously released single look silly and juvenile. It also begs a huge question on how this album will sound. Her voice is even getting better, she struggled a little but she pulled out a strong performance.

After “Safe and Sound” featuring the Civil Wars, I thought she would move  into a slower folkier direction. “Ronan” shows she can write sweet, heartfelt songs. Swift wrote the song after seeing a blog post by Ronan Thompson’s mother Maya, credited as co-writer on the track. This touching track is for sale on iTunes with all proceeds benefiting cancer related charities via the Taylor Swift Charitable Fund.
