Sonya Tayeh’s Carnival 2012 Piece
Sonya Tayeh has a style all her own. Her choreography is always intricate and hard hitting but this piece also has a softer edge. The dancers are incredible. The parts where they are in-sync are amazing. There are sections when the dancers only shift from flexed to pointed toe and its stunning. Tayeh uses the music beautifully and unexpectedly. This is a phenomenal piece. The song used is a remix by Alec Empire of “Joga” by the incredible Bjork. The dancers in this piece are: Adrian Lee, Kaitlynn Edgar, Chelsea Thedinga, Sloan-Taylor Rabinor, Jenn Freeman, Nick Lanzsiera and Megan Janelle Campbell.
