VMA Nominations – Best Choreography
The nominations for the MTV Video Music Awards came out earlier today with Katy Perry taking the lead with 9 nominations. The artists whose videos captured the attention for best choreography were Beyonce, Lady Gaga, LMFAO, Bruno Mars and Britney Spears. Although these are their songs and videos, it is the choreography that makes the videos.
Nominated for Best Choreography are:
Beyoncé - ”Run the World (Girls)”, choreography by Frank Gatson. According to MTV “Dancing Queen B uses authentic west-African dance mixed with hard hitting contemporary choreography in this femme du monde anthem.”
Britney Spears - ”Till the World Ends”, choreography by Brian Friedman. MTV says “Britney Spears takes viewers on an edgy non-stop mission to dance “Till The World Ends.”
Bruno Mars - ”The Lazy Song” (i.e. The worst song ever), choreographed by Bruno Mars & Poreotics. According to MTV, “Bruno Mars proves he’s got more than just singing chops while displaying fun and laid-back moves in “The Lazy Song.”
Lady Gaga - ”Judas”, choreography by Laurieann Gibson. “The Mother Monster leads a pack of hardcore bikers before breaking it down with hard-hitting moves.”
LMFAO f/ Lauren Bennett & Goon - ”Party Rock Anthem,” choreography by Hokuto Konishi (SYTYCD and ABDC alum). “Dance party crew LMFAO can’t fight the urge to shuffle as they get down with fancy footwork in “Party Rock Anthem.”
