Obsessions – Movies
I don’t think it is much of a surprise that ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo‘ trailer is on my list of favourties. Not only did David Fincher direct and Rooney Mara, Christopher Plummer and Daniel Craig all star but Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross scored it. I am a huge fan of the score for ‘The Social Network‘ but watching how they created the music was my favourite part of the DVD extras.
The song playing in the trailer is a cover for Led Zepplin‘s Immigrant Song featuring the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s singer Karen O. The song is dark and mechanical and adds a haunting dimension to the trailer. I have seen this ten times and each time I am excited and intrigued by it. Everything about this trailer is perfection and screams Fincher. I was upset that Hollywood was putting their grimy hands on another perfectly amazing foreign film but Fincher, Craig, Mara, Plummer, Ross and Reznor gave me hope that this could be incredible. Here’s hoping!
