Meet the new Top 20 for So You Think You Can Dance Season 8.
“Alexander Fost won Mr. Dance USA in 2006 and Mr. Dance International in 2007. A year later, he earned a spot with the Los Angeles Youth American Grand Prix, and went on to dance with the Media City Ballet, San Pedro Ballet and the Festival Ballet Theatre companies.” Frost is 21 and from Alhambra, California. He started dancing at 16 and has formal ballet training.
“Ashley Rich trained at a local dance studio from age 3 to 18. For the past two years, she has been employed as a dance teacher in her hometown. She is a talented cook who also enjoys baking.” Rich is 22 and from Antioch, California.
“Caitlynn Lawson will earn both her diploma from Moses Lake High School and her associates’ degree from Big Bend Community College this June. She has been dancing since she was 3 years old, and her specialty is Jazz/Contemporary.” Lawson is 18 and from Moses Lake, Washington.
“Chris Koehl lives in his hometown of Garland, TX. He began teaching himself Hip-Hop at 14 years old. Over the past few years, he has divided his time between training at local studios, in college classes and teaching dance.” Koehl is a 21 year-old hip hop dancer.
“Clarice Ordaz is a student at California State University, Long Beach. She has trained in many styles of dance since age 2, and her specialty is Jazz.” Ordaz is from Whittier, California and is 19 years old.
“Iveta Lukosiute was born in Klaipeda, Lithuania, and moved to the U.S. in 1997. She has been dancing since she was 6 years old. She is a World Champion Professional 10-Dance of the World Dance Council, and her specialties are Ballroom and Latin.” Lukosiute is 30 years old.
“Jess LeProtto lives in his hometown of Little Falls, NJ. He is a senior at Passaic Valley High School. He has been dancing since he was 3 years old, and his specialty is Broadway.” LeProtto is 18 years old.
“Jordan Casanova lives in her hometown of Chino Hills, CA, and she graduated from Ruben S. Ayala High School in 2010. She has been dancing since she was 8 years old, and her specialty is Jazz.” Casanova is 18 years old.
“Originally from the South Pacific island of Guam, Marko Germar moved to Los Angeles in 2008 to pursue a career in dance. In addition to nine years of studio training, he is now able to learn from a variety of choreographers as part of the SYTYCD family and live his dream.” Germar is originally from Dededo, Guam and is 22 years old.
“Melanie Moore is a freshman at Fordham University in New York. She has been dancing since she was 2 years old, and her specialty is Contemporary.” Moore is from Marietta, Georgia and is 19 years old.
“Miranda Maleski moved from the suburbs of Pittsburgh, PA, to Los Angeles at just 18 years old. She has been dancing since age 3, and her dance specialties have evolved over the years. She is always up for trying new things and can’t resist a challenge.” Maleski is 19 years old.
“Missy Morelli has been living in Los Angeles for the past two years as a professional dancer. She has been dancing since she was 3 years old, and her dance specialty is Jazz.” Morelli is originally from Arvada, Colorado and is 19 years old.
“Mitchell Kelly attended Henry W. Grady High School. He began dancing at age 14, and has been dancing professionally for six years. His specialties are Contemporary and Jazz.” Kelly is 20 years old and is from Chicago, Illinois.
Nick Young graduated from high school in 2010. He has been dancing since age 4, and his favorite style of dance is Tap.” Young is from Franklin, Wisconsin and is 19 years old.
“Ricky Jaime graduated from Newsome High School in Lithia, FL, in June 2010. After a three year reprieve, he began studying dance again at age 17. Eventually he would like to be a member of a professional ballet company in California, New York or Europe.” Jaime is 18 and is from Miami, Florida.
Robert Taylor Jr.
“Robert Taylor Jr. graduated from Marymount Manhattan College with a bachelor’s degree in dance. His credits include television shows, music videos and the national tour of “Hairspray.” Taylor is honored to have once performed for Michael Jackson. He has trained with numerous professionals and has performed in some of the country’s most prestigious dance shows.” Taylor is originally from Brooklyn, New York and is 30 years old.
“Ryan Ramirez is pursuing her dream of becoming a well-known dancer and choreographer. She has been dancing since she was 4 years old and choreographing since age 11. Dance is her language, and she is the happiest and most free when she is performing.” Ramirez is from Morgan Hill, California and is 19.
“At age 5, Sasha Mallory began studying ballet technique at the Royal Academy of Dance. She trained at the Houston Ballet, the Boston Ballet and the Ailey School’s summer intensives. Her speciality is Contemporary, and she recently toured with pop star Adam Lambert.” Mallory is originally from Bakersfield, California and is 23 years old.
“Tadd Gadduang began dancing at age 15 as a hobby, but eventually realized his passion for it after graduating from high school. With no formal dance training, he considers what he does “urban dancing.” He is currently in his sophomore year of college studying psychology.” Gadduang is a 25 year-old hip hop dancer originally from Salt Lake City, Utah.
“Wadi Jones was born in St. Ann’s, Jamaica, and moved to the U.S. in 1988 at age 3. A dancer for nearly fourteen years, his specialties are Hip-Hop and Breaking. He is passionate about art, poetry and music, and he is inspired by his older brother and the example he set for him.” Jones is a 24 year old breaker from Ossining, New York.
