Song Of The Day – Not Ready To Make Nice
Not Ready To Make Nice is the explosive country song by the band the Dixie Chicks. This is my favourite song by far from them. The song is on their 2006 album Taking The Long Way and came after remarks lead singer Natalie Maines made about President Bush when performing in London. This is one of the best reaction songs and my personal favourite. The Dixie Chicks are a country band supported mostly by conservatives and saying bad things about a Conservative (republican) president is not the best thing to do. The Dixie Chicks have balls and it’s nice to see an artist fighting for their beliefs when most are so scared to leave the mechanism that gave them life in the industry. The album and song won three Grammy’s and this signified that country artists can cater to more than just the southern audience.
